October 27, 2017 / Manila, Philippines. The Philippines will play host to the ASEAN Business & Investment Summit 2017 (ABIS) from November 13-14, 2017 at the Solaire Grand Ballroom in Parañaque City. With the theme World Leaders’ Roadmap Towards Prosperity for All, the event promotes dialogue among the private sector and with the region’s leaders including Heads of State, Ministers of ASEAN Member States and ASEAN partners.
“This year’s ASEAN Business and Investment Summit is gathering the leaders from the business, investor, and policymaking communities who play an integral role in making “prosperity for all” more than just a mere motto and into our future reality,” said Joey Concepcion, ABAC Chair. “With dialogues that will touch on the most pertinent issues in development and business, the event hopes to be a stepping stone leading towards public-private partnerships favoring inclusive business and consequentially, inclusive growth.”
Through forums tackling multi-channel connectivity, infrastructure development, entrepreneurial empowerment, disruptive innovation, and entrepreneurship in the digital economy, the two-day summit aims to provide corporate leaders, government executives, MSMEs, youth & women leaders, and various enablers with key insights allowing them to effectively leverage the burgeoning economy of the ASEAN. “At ABAC, we believe that the private sector can create the biggest impact in terms of promoting inclusive growth by focusing on the 3 M’s. These are Mentorship, which is the purpose of AMEN, Money and Market. Mentorship is the most powerful tool in helping entrepreneurs, especially the marginalized micro and small entrepreneurs, move up from survival to sustainability but they also need access to credit to bring their ideas to life as well access to bigger markets, through new platforms like e-commerce, to flourish,” adds Chairman Concepcion.
