The Chair is responsible for setting the direction and focus of ASEAN-BAC activities for that year, hosting key events such as the ASEAN Business & Investment Summit (ABIS) and the ASEAN Business Awards (ABA).

The Chair also leads the consultation process between ASEAN leaders and the regional private sector, facilitating dialogue on business policies and economic integration across ASEAN nations.
