SRW&Co. Provides AGLP Scholarship to ASEAN Business Awards (ABA) 2024 Winners
8 February 2024 – The ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) and SRW&Co. recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) in relaunching the ASEAN Global Leadership Program (AGLP) Scholarship. The MOA was signed by Oudet Souvannavong representing the ASEAN-BAC Chair 2024 and Daniel Wong, Chairman & Partner of SRW&Co.. Copy of the MOA is accessible here.
The 1st AGLP Scholarship Scheme was launched in 2016 under a strategic partnership between ASEAN-BAC and SRW&Co.. The AGLP Scholarship is open to applications by the winners of the ASEAN Business Awards (ABA). The shortlisted candidates will have to undergo a stringent process of interview assessment and selection to be granted the scholarship. To date, a total of 7 AGLP Scholars had attended the AGLP in top rated global business schools in the UK, China and USA. The AGLP scholars came from Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia and Lao PDR. The selected AGLP scholars from among the 2024 ABA winners will attend the AGLP in a top-rated global business school in 2025.

The ASEAN Global Leadership Program (AGLP) is a custom designed 5-day leadership development program focusing on the 4 key themes of Globalization, Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Leadership. The program aims to provide a learning platform for the participants to address the challenges and opportunities in the AEC context, while promoting business networking for the participants from the South East Asia countries. The first AGLP edition was launched in 2009 in collaboration with the University of Cambridge Judge Business School, followed by the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business, the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business, NYU Stern School of Business, University of Chicago Booth School of Business, London Business School, London School of Economics and Political Science, and IESE Business School. To date, the AGLP Alumni comprise some 500 top executives at the C-suite and Board level in the corporate sector across industries, including policy makers and regulators from the public sector in the ASEAN region.

ASEAN-BAC was created by the ASEAN Leaders in 2003 comprising leading CEOs, heads of chambers of commerce and industry, and business organizations from the ASEAN member states to provide feedback and guidance to the ASEAN Leaders and to facilitate and fast track the regional economic integration efforts.
Its objective is to provide private sector feedback on the implementation of ASEAN Economic Cooperation and identify priority areas for consideration of the Leaders. Some of its activities include reviewing and identifying issues to facilitate and promote economic cooperation and integration and submit annual recommendations for the consideration of the Leaders and ASEAN Economic Ministers, and to socialize the working concept of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) to the private sector.
