Jakarta, 3rd May 2018. The 2 AGLP Scholars , Ms Nasha Jungkankul (ABA 2017 winner in SME Excellence–Growth category) and Ms Sirina Sisombat Hervy (ABA 2017 winner in Women Entrepreneur category) attended a 5-day ASEAN Global Leadership Program (AGLP) in NYU Stern School of Business from 16th-20th April 2018. They joined a group of 40 leaders from both the private and public sector in the ASEAN countries.
The week-long program comprised class room lectures, company visits, panel discussion and business networking event. Topics covered by the NYU Stern faculty included Global Economy and Trends, the Agile Organisation, Disruptive Innovation, Block Chain Technologies, Big Data Analytics, and Strategy: Creating & Capturing Value. The participants also visited Pinterest and Barclays Bank to hear the first hand insights of an 8-year old start up like Pinterest versus the challenges of sustaining a 350-year old Barclays Bank. They also attended a business networking event hosted by the American Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and US ASEAN Business Council where they met the New York based business community.
Both AGLP scholars found the program timely and useful in preparing them to address their challenges as SMEs gearing up to expand their business to become a bigger domestic player with the ambition to be a regional firm. The 2 AGLP scholars were interviewed upon completion of the program and sharing their insights about the program as contained in the video.
Launched in 2016, the AGLP Scholarship is a CSR program initiated by SRW&Co. in collaboration with the ASEAN Business Advisory Council. The scholarship is awarded to selected ABA winners who applied for the scholarship. The Scholarship Awardees have to meet the stringent assessment and selection criteria through interviews. The selected Scholars will be invited to attend the ASEAN Global Leadership Program in a global business school in the US or UK.
