The ASEAN Business Advisory Council and Joint Business Councils Dialogue Partners and Sector Champions joins the 2021 ASEAN Brunei Chair’s call for urgent dialogue, reconciliation and immediate return to normalcy in Myanmar.

As an integral member of the ASEAN family, with our shared vision towards peace and prosperity for all, we profoundly share the statement from the ASEAN Brunei Chair seeking for a swift and peaceful resolution of the situation in accordance with the will and interests of the people of Myanmar.

As we all push for deeper integration and harmonization under the economic pillar of the ASEAN Community, we wish to see the continued progress of Myanmar in the various reforms it has undertaken to modernize its economy and attract foreign direct investments to make its economy truly competitive and resilient especially at this most trying times of the pandemic.

It is therefore our sincere hope that the current situation would lead to upholding the best interest of the Myanmar people by way of establishing a business environment that builds trust and confidence in engaging and doing business with our counterpart brethren in Myanmar in the soonest possible time.
